ruffle my feathers

Photos by Ashley Jahncke

Ashley's always been and always will be one of my favorite photographers - and I'm beyond lucky to be able to work with her on both a personal and professional level. She makes you feel insanely comfortable in front of the camera and off. It doesn't hurt that she's one of the sweetest people too.

So we're at the tail-end of fashion week - but don't fret! Working on more videos for y'all when it's not hellishly cold outside.

the layering game

Photos by Emily Malan

I've been so M.I.A. for the past few weeks but hey, I've been busy editing videos for y'all and working a full time 9-to-5 to boot. So here's a quick shot that Emily snapped during a quick Soho errand run.

And here's my latest vlog of a weekend in Vermont. And because we're still in the winter season and just in case you've missed, here's my winter outfit video!

knit and fringe

Photos by Alvin

I haven't worn flared pants in a minute, but man - these Zara ones are knit to perfection. Just as soon as I get them properly hemmed - I'll be able to wear them all day every day 24 hours 7 days a week yes.

I'm not really typing in actual sentences now, am I? Anywho - this fringe moto jacket from ShopLoeil has me on the roll for anything fringe. Fringe sweaters, fringe shoes, fringe hair?

New video will be up in a little - with weather this nasty, it's hard to film outside. But stay tuned, guys!

do you believe in magic?

Photos by Emily Malan

Do you believe in magic? I do now. Thanks to French Connection and the shopping gods for helping me find these pair of perfect Celine boots in just my size.

And my first vlog is up! Hope you're inside and warm on this Saturday afternoon. Or out and about and bundled. Whatever works.

dinosaurs are real

You know the feeling when you obsessively check your mailbox to see whether your package has been delivered yet? Now take that feeling and quadruple it - because the excitement I felt when I opened this Forever21 Dino T up was incomparable. I mean come on guys, it's a tee shirt with dinosaurs on it. Pair it with some ripped jeans from Zara and my favorite MIRLO jewelry, oh - and that Proenza bag I can't seem to stop wearing.

western vibes

Are you guys getting sick of this Proenza bag yet? I'm really keeping to my own word and maximizing the cost-per-wear out of this little one. Never mind that it goes with anything and everything I have in my closet, but it's definitely the perfect size for bringing only what I need and not what I want. This outfit was monochromatic and practical with a hint of femininity that I often lack. I paired the flounce on this Addison NY drop waist dress with a prehistoric belt that I had (God knows where I got this) and my trusty long cardigan from Forever21 a while back.

Another word I had promised to keep was to bring y'all some YouTube videos - that's in the works but it'll take a bit. Especially when this one has no computer to work with. And spends all her computer-fixing money on random things.

Happy Sunday!

sprung

Photos by Alvin

Spring has officially sprung - evident in the increasing amount of photos of flowers and green foliage on your Instagram feed (guilty as charged) - but I'm not mad at it. Because that means actually being able to wear this FCUK leather number with whatever mini dress I have on hand and beat up Converses. The perfect outfit for another rainy day at the Met.

spring backward

Today, no one's really thinking about spring especially when it's 30 degrees outside. But flashback to a few days ago when it was 57 and I just couldn't wait to break out my new embellished Zara sandals (that wanted desperately to be Birkenstocks).

Also - this Dorothy Perkins plaid top. I have the matching skirt (actually two of them) - and am waiting for that perfect weather to wear them together. And right now, with the code DPFW25 - you get 25% off! Clearly a no brainer.

Happy Pi Day, nerds!

pick up the pace

If you guys follow me on Instagram @kristengracelam - you probably have already seen my early morning shoot with Angel (and the best prop guy, Alvin) last weekend when New York blessed us with 50 degree weather, a tiny glimpse of spring to come. This weekend will probably be filled with family dinners and so be it. The snow's coming and all I'm gonna wanna do is sit indoors with Netflix and Dexter.

Have the best Friday, everyone!

quick snaps

Just a few quick photos snapped after a coffee date with the lovely Sara who was in town for NYFW - fuss free with a chunky heeled boot and the easiest paint-splattered Katherine Kwei crossbody that fits my phone and a few cards. Into it.

boyish charm

Photos by Paulina

When I was young, people claimed that if I had short hair, I would look like a boy. That might explain my affinity for masculine silhouettes. So here we go with these Lulu's trousers. They're perfectly slouchy to show off just an inch or two of midriff and stop right above the ankle to show off a pair of my favorite loafers.

a day at the high line

It's always an incredible thing to be able to say that you've known someone for almost a decade. With Zach, we went to middle school, high school and prom together. Yeah - this dude took yours truly to senior prom. He's always been a gentleman and over the years, after graduation and a ton of fond memories, I'm so happy that he's found something that he truly loves and has an obviously innate talent in. Enjoy his photos from the chillest day at the High Line and Chelsea Market eating tacos and chasing them down with Mexican coke. It was easily one of my favorite shoots, especially because it was with such a good friend. And the results? Easily one of the best I've seen.
