miss new boot(ie)

Over the week of hellish heat and extravagantly dressed people that is New York Fashion Week, this season, I got the chance to visit the Dolce Vita showroom and picked up these incredible-edible boots slash booties (do we like that word?). Not only have I trekked a thousand miles in them already, but they've been the best summer-to-fall transition shoe ever. They give me a just-right height and a badass vibe that I could never achieve without them.

Struggling this Monday. How 'bout you?

the last bits

I refuse to believe summer is actually gone. Holding onto the last bits of it with accidental off-the-shoulder tops and bare feet.

Now that New York Fashion Week is over, I have time to sift through pictures that I've taken and actually spew out some backstage peeks during the week. So far in Yigal Azrouël, spring is bringing in a lot of palm prints, army green and pretty embroidery.

carpe(t) diem

Don't judge me because you'll see this skirt on constant rotation in and out of Instagram and the blog. I've been wearing it with stripes, grey Ts (and you know I have a lot of those), sweatshirts, denim jacket. You name it. Now it's sold out on Pixie Market for now, but keep checking back or add yourself to the wishlist. They always restock.

I wish I was better at puns.

run, don't walk

We all know that H&M's design collaborations are always the talk of the town (well, in New York, that is) - and the lines for these collections are out the door and through the roof. But this time around, their Studio Collection is the topic of conversation. And guys - it hits stores today. So damn, take a long lunch or go into work late and run, don't walk, to your nearest H&M and get your hands on something / everything. I layered my mesh top under a backless dress to make it just a little more dressed down/up depending on the shoes I wear.

And definitely follow along my Instagram because that dreaded just kidding time of year, New York Fashion Week has finally started - and I'll be at the H&M A/W 2014 Studio Collection launch with Johnny Wujek and Kate Mara (hey you House of Cards geeks!). They'll be curating the H&M windows around the city so make sure you keep a lookout.

Now stop reading this blog post and run over to the stores, guys!

that time of the year

You'll undoubtedly be seeing this outfit in and around NYFW if you're heading into the battlefield this year. A note about NYFW: make sure you don't stress out and just have fun. People-watch, enjoy the shows, take pictures - but there's no need to strut around in 7-inch heels to look cool. Because chances are, you already do.

Follow along at @kristengracelam during the week!
