introduction

Photos by Alvin

And it's finally here! The first ever YouTube video. I'm sure I'll get used to hearing the sound of my own voice but more importantly, hopefully you guys get used to it too hehe. I mainly wanted to start this channel because I wanted you guys to see that hey - my life isn't as glamorous as you guys think. I'm a normal person with normal friends and normal awkward tendencies. And with video, there's no faking it. What you see is what you get. So enjoy and subscribe - stay tuned for my Istanbul vlog!

Side note: I just want to give a HUGE thanks to everyone that subscribed already. It's been amazing to see so many reactions, I welcome both good and bad. Thank y'all for allllll the continued love!

a steve madden spring

Photos by Paulina

Today, I'm talking all things spring on Steve Madden's blog featuring a few of their new spring arrivals, including these ZOREN oxfords that really ease themselves from winter to spring. It was warm enough to not have to wear 5+ layers underneath, but still tried to do a little bit of layering with a short sleeved printed button down (that I'm overly obsessed with) and my trusty grey T.

Head over to Steve Madden to see what I've picked for the season and to find out a little bit more about my style mantra and the colors / things I'll need for SS14!

grey matter

I have to be quite honest, fanny packs - in my mind - were reserved for grandmas, music festivals and DisneyWorld tourists. But when one of my friends told me that she started KittyMakWarriors, and asked me to choose a few of my favorites to style, this fanny pack stuck out with its updated silhouette and metal enclosure. And with my favorite monochromatic wardrobe pieces, it just fits in so, so well. Throw on a little bit of plaid detail and there ya go. Fanny packs for the win.

Happy weekend!

a day at the high line

It's always an incredible thing to be able to say that you've known someone for almost a decade. With Zach, we went to middle school, high school and prom together. Yeah - this dude took yours truly to senior prom. He's always been a gentleman and over the years, after graduation and a ton of fond memories, I'm so happy that he's found something that he truly loves and has an obviously innate talent in. Enjoy his photos from the chillest day at the High Line and Chelsea Market eating tacos and chasing them down with Mexican coke. It was easily one of my favorite shoots, especially because it was with such a good friend. And the results? Easily one of the best I've seen.

thanksgiving foliage

I don't normally post more than a few photos, but this has gotta be one of my favorite shoots to date so it was too hard to choose just a few, you guys know how much I love a brick wall (mark my words, my future apartment will have some sort of exposed brick!).

I had the chance to visit French Connection's flagship store down on West Broadway last week on that gloriously warm Friday and this jacket was one of the first things that caught my eye in the store. The really subtle plaid and houndstooth fusion is what really hooked me. Plus, it's such a unique length that I haven't tried yet. I wore the jumpsuit underneath, which was highly recommended by pretty much everyone in the store (thanks Kristi!) - it was definitely too cold to show off how incredible it fits but will definitely be wearing this over and over and over again.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all! Enjoy food and family!

lazy habits

Photos by Landon of FashionGoggled

These days I've picked up extremely lazy habits of dressing like a boy, it all depends on my mood. And when it comes to an early post-Sandy Monday when I'm feeling under the weather - a boy's polka dot sweater, my never-fail sneaker heels and my absolute favorite leather sleeved varsity jacket will have to do.

Today, my photographer is Apneet - whose vintage finds and mile long legs are just an added bonus to her sweet, bubbly and downright cool personality. Turns out, we go to the same college, and we squeezed this overdue photo shoot between a ten minute break and man, is her camera amazing or what? She's included me in the recent issue of the Hunter Envoy - in print! I picked up a single copy for myself, if you see one lying around, take a peek at the outfit that Apneet so aptly describes as having a "student-friendly price tag".

happiness ensues

Photos by blogger boyfriend Landon / FashionGoggled

If you've seen me walking around these past few weeks, chances are, I'm wearing these sneaker wedges. I've been looking for sneakers for a while, ever since I fell in love with the Isabel Marant Beketts on practically everyone and did a post on sneakers here. The cartoonish charm of the Isabel Marants are what really drew me in, and although there were tons of suede shoes to choose from - Ash and ASOS - none had quite the character as the Marants. I wasn't about to spend $700 on a pair of shoes, although was seriously contemplating it, so when I saw these Hilights, I didn't hesitate to surrender my credit card to the cashier and purchase the most obnoxious, awesome pair of shoes currently in my possession.

50 shades

You know that a trend has taken over when it trickles over to menswear. I mean, I found this ombré  shirt at the Gap in the men's section. It was $11 and three sizes too big, but I pulled it over my head and I couldn't bear to take it off. Roll up the sleeves, cuff them, safety-pin them if you must, but don't let the size fool you. Sometimes oversized shirts are just the thing for a hot summer day.
And how appropriate is the title? It had to happen sometime, half my wardrobe is grey. Today, I just happen to be wearing 50 (well...like 2) shades of it.
