learning french
Photos by Alvin
Here I am, learning French - one rad T shirt at a time.
mauvais garçon = bad boy
And here's my promise to myself and to you guys - there'll be at least one video up by the end of September. Hold me to it.

night to day and again
Photos by Alvin
So my girls over at Girls Off Fifth were going to Morocco and had bought this amazing crop from Topshop that was just so fitting. I fell in love with the crochet details and the neckline and literally had to run to Topshop to find one of the last ones in my size. I wore it for a night out, immediately wore it again the next morning and wanted to wear it again and again. Can you blame me?

Every girl needs a pair of high waisted denim shorts in their closet. Never mind if guys don't like 'em (sorry Alvin). They're flattering and go with everything. This pair for example? Stolen from my sister's closet and I wore them 3 days in a row this weekend. #yolo

in the words of myrtle snow
Took these a few days ago with a new vintage treasure find, this Balenciaga (or balenciagaaaaaaaa!) overall dress that looks just like an artist smock (and yes, I've been told). How did I wear it? Easy. Throw a comfortable striped T, newly acquired from Objects Without Meaning (in my favorite color, no less) and a few minimal statements from Mirlo New York - I'm piling it high, y'all, my horseshoe cuff, handcuff ring and X cuff.
Well, after today I'm off for another 3 day weekend to gaze at stars and live in the wild. Wish me luck. No but really. This girl ain't an outdoors kinda girl, so pray for me.

Last weekend was my birthday weekend, and I can wear sneakers if I want to. Especially if they're the most incredible sneakers ever.

90s Lullaby overalls | French Connection button down | J.Crew oversized vest | We Are Komono watch | vintage backpack | Warby Parker Reillys
Yes, I love looking like a boy. These oversized overalls are the most comfortable things I own right now - paired with the same Hawaiian shirt in my last posts, an oversized vest that I picked up from a thrift store and an iced coffee (always an iced coffee). Throw on my trusty backpack and you've got a get-up for every single weekend.

Spent a day this past Valentine's Day weekend in subzero temperatures in Central Park and took refuge at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which - if you haven't visited - is obviously a must-see for any tourist. For a native New Yorker, it's the best place to lose yourself for a few hours.

camouflage flurries

Club Monaco coat | Mia & Moss denim | Dr Scholl's Shoes boots | vintage backpack (similar one that I just must need) | Warby Parker sunglasses
An escape to Williamsburg for last weekend ended in white flurries, and our second choice brunch plans ended up being an incredibly sweet little French spot called Pate et Traditions. I also picked up this pair of Warby Parker Reilly sunglasses in the best updated wayfarer silhouette in the coolest tortoise print (marzipan tortoise to be exact) just in time for the weekend.
And I've been looking for this Club Monaco number for pretty much forever, twinning with my Canadian boos Bianca and Dani I finally found it inconspicuously hunted it down - in the corner of the new Club Monaco Soho - just waiting to be worn as much as possible for the duration of this neverending winter.

Zara sweatshirt | VeryHoney skirt | vintage shearling jacket | Katherine Kwei crossbody | Steve Madden ponyhair booties (similar)
Just a few quick photos snapped after a coffee date with the lovely Sara who was in town for NYFW - fuss free with a chunky heeled boot and the easiest paint-splattered Katherine Kwei crossbody that fits my phone and a few cards. Into it.

introduction | handvaerk

French Connection coat | handvaerk T | Lulu's RVCA trousers | Long Lost Jewelry shark tooth necklace | vintage bag
This long coat - obviously a big favorite of mine - makes it so easy for me to put outfits together when the day's weather just doesn't call for anything fancy. Not sure if you guys have heard of handvaerk but damn, this is my absolute favorite grey crew neck, it's just so soft and fits perfectly around my shoulders. Check out the other styles that they have on their site. My eyes are own their perfect crew neck sweatshirt or a grey henley that I surprisingly don't own in my closet.
And drum roll please...congratulations Mariah Bowen, you're the winner of the AdoreMe giveaway! I'll be shooting you an email soon so keep a lookout. Thanks everyone for participating and there'll be more where that came from ;)

florals in full
Lulu's floral dress | H&M cashmere sweater | vintage Coach bag
I wish you guys could see the full floral glory of this Lulu's floral dress. Chiffon, floral and backless - it looks like I'm on the wrong side of America, y'all. But hey, throw my favorite grey cashmere sweater over it and you've got an outfit fit to bear the insane polar vortex that never seems like it's gonna end.
