introduction | handvaerk

Photos by Paulina

This long coat - obviously a big favorite of mine - makes it so easy for me to put outfits together when the day's weather just doesn't call for anything fancy. Not sure if you guys have heard of handvaerk but damn, this is my absolute favorite grey crew neck, it's just so soft and fits perfectly around my shoulders. Check out the other styles that they have on their site. My eyes are own their perfect crew neck sweatshirt or a grey henley that I surprisingly don't own in my closet.

And drum roll please...congratulations Mariah Bowen, you're the winner of the AdoreMe giveaway! I'll be shooting you an email soon so keep a lookout. Thanks everyone for participating and there'll be more where that came from ;)

florals in full

Lulu's floral dress  |  H&M cashmere sweater  |  vintage Coach bag

I wish you guys could see the full floral glory of this Lulu's floral dress. Chiffon, floral and backless - it looks like I'm on the wrong side of America, y'all. But hey, throw my favorite grey cashmere sweater over it and you've got an outfit fit to bear the insane polar vortex that never seems like it's gonna end.

boyish charm

Photos by Paulina

When I was young, people claimed that if I had short hair, I would look like a boy. That might explain my affinity for masculine silhouettes. So here we go with these Lulu's trousers. They're perfectly slouchy to show off just an inch or two of midriff and stop right above the ankle to show off a pair of my favorite loafers.

Greeting the third snowstorm this winter in New York with a brave face, a new favorite wide-brimmed hat and a delicious cold brew in hand.

velvet dream

Missing California and its consistent, beautiful weather. Come on, nice weather just makes you happier, doesn't it? Opted for an easy outfit, fuss-free with overalls, a breezy crop top and comfortable slip-ons for hiking up mountains and doing tourist-y things.

More photos from LA to come! But really though, Christmas is right around the corner, what's everyone doing for the holidays?

lulu's sweater weather | marled sequins

Photos by Paulina
gifted Lulu's cropped sweater  |  Line & Dot sequin skirt  |  Rue Gembon necklace  |  Juliet & Co necklace  |  Converses

It's another Lulu's look with this cropped marled grey sweater that's available online right now. You already know my insane obsession with grey, it's a lot more casual than black or white. I wish I could find more occasions to wear this sequin skirt, it's just too beautiful to be kept in the dark corners of my room.

Also, friendly reminder that the #LulusSweaterWeather giveaway is still going on until next Friday - and the rules? Psh, it's real easy. If you're already following me on Instagram - all you have to do is follow Lulu's on Instagram. Plus, an extra point for Gryffindor following Lulu's on Google+!

Oh, and did I forgot to mention again what you'll be winning? It'll be - not just any sweater - but your favorite sweater from Lulu's! And hey, it could totally be the sweater that I'm wearing now, but the beauty of it is...it's your choice!

lulu's sweater weather | giveaway

Black is always a default and let's be honest - it looks good on nearly everyone. Opted for a different texture with these sequin harem pants from Lulu's and went for comfort over all with a slight heel and an oversized sweater.

asiatic

Photos by Landon

Another one of my crazy obsessions, and this time it's with really asiatic, oriental prints. If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen this one and this jacket right here - which I've worn all week. It's an incredibly perfect lightweight jacket for the transitional summer to fall weather that we're experiencing in New York.

eleven paris

Before I forget, the winner of the J.Crew giveaway is A. Quach (not sure what your first name is), but I'll be shooting you an email for you to claim your prize! Thanks to everyone that entered and don't worry...there will be more giveaways where that came from!

Huge fan of plaid shirts, always have been and always will be. This chiffon one from Forever21 was under $20 and just so light and perfect for the summer. And this tank, can we talk about this take for a sec? Literally, one weekend, I lived in this tank for a few days. I threw it on to sleep, wore it the next day with a pair of boyfriend jeans, and then threw on a skirt at night. Thanks Lauren, you're such an awesome chick :) Hello favorite tank ever!

PS: The Eleven Paris collection is sick. Totally perfect for NYFW, amiright?

never a wrong time

gifted Lulu's leather crop top  |  ASOS plaid skirt (similar here, here and here

It pains me to tell you that this Lulu's crop top is sold out in both black and white - but not to fear, what's amazing about Lulu's is their ability to hit the nail on absolutely everything that they have on their site. You can't go wrong, really. If you're looking for an everyday crop top, they've got it. If you're looking for a little bit of cutout, they've got that too. I'm glad that the weather's finally cooling down a bit for me to sport a wool midi-skirt without suffocating and a crop top without looking a little nuts. Although, is there ever a wrong time to be wearing a crop top and a full skirt?

Edit: Spoke too soon, the ultimate leather crop top is back!

I never thought that a pair of vertical striped overalls would be a staple in my closet, but they kinda are. I wore these at least three times this week and totally not ashamed of it. But then again, you know me - anything goes with a grey T.

I haven't been keeping up with the blog lately as much as I could be, but I've been brainstorming a schedule for y'all now that summer's coming up and there's more free time on the weekends - but hey, exciting posts coming up. Costa Rica's next week and there's gotta be some incredible sights there right?

Probably not the best day to wear my Chloé loafers, but I kinda loved the checkered dress with stark white shoes.

the suit, not the tie

You should see this dress without the blazer, it's absolutely gorgeous, but slightly scandalous for work. You'll be seeing the dress in its fully glory for Costa Rica in a few weeks!

this is madness, this is new york

Photos by Paulina

Guys, it's 46 degrees and I'm wearing less than 4 layers - an asymmetric skirt from Koshka (very much Helmut Lang inspired, but way more affordable!) that I've been dying to wear for the warmer weather and a collared shirt under a uniquely pea green colored open knit sweater. The lightweight trench is great to throw on anything, the color is classic and the silhouette is just so me. These TSUBO Footwear heels really changed the game for me. They're the most comfortable shoes I own - so far at least - and they're black, which means they're going with everything in my closet.

Yesterday it was snowing, today it's spring. This is madness. This is New York.

reintroduction to florals

Photos by Landon

When I was first introduced to Modavanti and their dedication to sustainable fashion. All the brands and products available on their site are eco-friendly and they donate 2% of their entire revenue to charity. They carry some pretty incredible brands, I was introduced to Westward Leaning and I was sold after I saw these matte black sunglasses with mirrored lens (Cindy, you need to check these out!). I've been carrying them in my bag hoping for a sunny day in New York City, with spring coming up, I'm sure I'll be rocking these everywhere.

Also, me in peplum? I'm starting to get into it. It cinches in my waist in the best way imaginable. Paired this girly Sugarlips top with my go-to baggy boyfriend jeans and heels. The second look featuring this trench coat had to be spring appropriate.
