the layering game

Photos by Emily Malan

I've been so M.I.A. for the past few weeks but hey, I've been busy editing videos for y'all and working a full time 9-to-5 to boot. So here's a quick shot that Emily snapped during a quick Soho errand run.

And here's my latest vlog of a weekend in Vermont. And because we're still in the winter season and just in case you've missed, here's my winter outfit video!

knit and fringe

Photos by Alvin

I haven't worn flared pants in a minute, but man - these Zara ones are knit to perfection. Just as soon as I get them properly hemmed - I'll be able to wear them all day every day 24 hours 7 days a week yes.

I'm not really typing in actual sentences now, am I? Anywho - this fringe moto jacket from ShopLoeil has me on the roll for anything fringe. Fringe sweaters, fringe shoes, fringe hair?

New video will be up in a little - with weather this nasty, it's hard to film outside. But stay tuned, guys!

do you believe in magic?

Photos by Emily Malan

Do you believe in magic? I do now. Thanks to French Connection and the shopping gods for helping me find these pair of perfect Celine boots in just my size.

And my first vlog is up! Hope you're inside and warm on this Saturday afternoon. Or out and about and bundled. Whatever works.

wang x hm

This is what we've all been waiting for, right? Tomorrow's the big day and at 8am, the doors will open and you'll all be able to shop the coveted Alexander Wang and H&M collection! Honestly, H&M always kills it with their basics and Alexander Wang is the king of 'em - so it makes sense. I wore this shirt as a dress, got it in a medium and layered a lace romper underneath so I'm not completely naked in 50 degree weather.

Anyone waking up bright and early for this collection?

travels in turkey | vlog

Over the weekend, in the midst of all of the Halloween freakshow festivities - I managed to shell out my Istanbul vlog. Istanbul was such a beautiful city and not even photos or videos can accurately capture it. Sure - my girls and I had our fair share of the creeps out and about but definitely recommend to anyone that wants a low-key vacation walking around, experiencing culture, music etc. And damn guys, the Turkish soaps alone will convince me to go back a second time around.

So take a peek at the vlog and let me know what you think - and remember to subscribe!

mind your miners

Photos by Ashley Jahncke

Mind your manners miners. The most manrepelling-perfect-comfortable jumpsuit there ever was is on my body. I can die happy now.

Oh and have you seen my video? Istanbul vlog coming at the end of this week, guys! Eeek! Fingers crossed and hope that my computer doesn't crash.

introduction

And it's finally here! The first ever YouTube video. I'm sure I'll get used to hearing the sound of my own voice but more importantly, hopefully you guys get used to it too hehe. I mainly wanted to start this channel because I wanted you guys to see that hey - my life isn't as glamorous as you guys think. I'm a normal person with normal friends and normal awkward tendencies. And with video, there's no faking it. What you see is what you get. So enjoy and subscribe - stay tuned for my Istanbul vlog!

Side note: I just want to give a HUGE thanks to everyone that subscribed already. It's been amazing to see so many reactions, I welcome both good and bad. Thank y'all for allllll the continued love!

fem details

Photos by Emily Malan

I finally got the chance to shoot with Emily after our chance (and random) encounter in Brooklyn. Managed to get these shots in during a long day of work when the weather was actually agreeing with us. Layered this lace Line & Dot dress underneath a turtleneck dress to give it a little more feminine detail.

Just got back from Turkey and I can't wait to edit all of the video footage! But seriously guys, my first intro to YouTube video is going to be up by the end of this week and I'm beyond scared excited petrified but mostly scared. Stay tuned!

take advantage

Photos by Alvin

Balanced out the easy grandpa chic-ness of this herringbone blazer with one of the shortest skirts that I own. And I took off the laces of this oxford to give it a more minimal feel. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how you take advantage of the fall weather in New York.

no-brainer

Quilted bomber with a pair of quilted boots. Seemed like a no-brainer match up to me.

Happy Sunday and stay warm out there! Oh and working on that video for y'all :)

olive you

Really into things that dust the floor as I walk, I guess. This Line & Dot one has such a cool graphic, too. And the easiest olive shirt dress in the world (at the best price - under $100, am I right?).

miss new boot(ie)

Photos by Alvin

Over the week of hellish heat and extravagantly dressed people that is New York Fashion Week, this season, I got the chance to visit the Dolce Vita showroom and picked up these incredible-edible boots slash booties (do we like that word?). Not only have I trekked a thousand miles in them already, but they've been the best summer-to-fall transition shoe ever. They give me a just-right height and a badass vibe that I could never achieve without them.

Struggling this Monday. How 'bout you?
