50 shades

You know that a trend has taken over when it trickles over to menswear. I mean, I found this ombré  shirt at the Gap in the men's section. It was $11 and three sizes too big, but I pulled it over my head and I couldn't bear to take it off. Roll up the sleeves, cuff them, safety-pin them if you must, but don't let the size fool you. Sometimes oversized shirts are just the thing for a hot summer day.
And how appropriate is the title? It had to happen sometime, half my wardrobe is grey. Today, I just happen to be wearing 50 (well...like 2) shades of it.

fan the floral flame

I must really be into my floral dresses these days. I can't seem to stop wearing my Isabel Lu floral chiffon maxi, and I'm lusting after a new Line and Dot dress that I just can't wait to get my hands on. This Sugarlips dress isn't helping my obsession, only adding more fuel to the fire. I ain't mad though. The beautiful bustier adds structure and texture to the otherwise silky dress with an incredible simple floral print.

tropic thunder

Talk about statement pants - these are some statement pants. I approached it gingerly, because you can't exactly clash this print with another. I chose a simple cotton tank that I dug up from the bottom of my drawers to help the pants stand out on its own (like it needed any help). And who would've thought navy MJ bag and black would go so well together? Whoever said "black and blue, shame on you" was sorely wrong.

New York, it seems like we're heading back to the heat, a whopping 92 degrees today, which means shorts, dresses, skirts. No pants.

the bare necessities

The Soriya bra has a sort of S&M feel (thanks Landon for pointing it out) that I'm kind of in love with. The straps make any low cut/see-through/open back shirt instantly wearable. It came just in time for summer too, because just about half my wardrobe just became appropriate to wear.

Also, I've been hearing a lot about BANGSTYLE hair products. Apparently their sea salt spray is out of this world. For a girl whose never given a second thought at hair products, I'm thinkin' that I need to try me some BANGSTYLE. Do you guys have any hair product suggestions?

the white-out of the summer

I've done it. Eureka! I've found the perfect boat hat. Because of the general strange size and shape of my head, there aren't many hats in this world that can fit it. But this one, this $10 hat from H&M, fits me like a glove, sort of. I opted for an all white outfit because I guess it's something that I've never tried. They don't call it summer whites for nothing!

eyelet neon inset

When we all have careers in the future, we're all going to have to wear a uniform like this someway or the other. That constricting yet flattering high waisted, knee-length skirt and a pair of black stilettos to keep you grounded. I won't go down without a fight, I made sure the skirt was sheer, lace, with a neon slip and I threw some prints on it - you can never go wrong with polka dots. My life motto basically:  you can never go wrong with polka dots, eyelet lace and neon.

PS: I finally found the perfect accessory for my iPhone, this Boostcase has a detachable, rechargeable battery pack. It's everything.

To #beattheheat in New York this summer, I threw on the absolute least amount of clothing on my body. Judge me all you want, but at least I'm cool. I have a feeling silk slips are gonna be a staple this summer. God help me. (On another note: who likes my post title?)
