ruffle my feathers

Photos by Ashley Jahncke

Ashley's always been and always will be one of my favorite photographers - and I'm beyond lucky to be able to work with her on both a personal and professional level. She makes you feel insanely comfortable in front of the camera and off. It doesn't hurt that she's one of the sweetest people too.

So we're at the tail-end of fashion week - but don't fret! Working on more videos for y'all when it's not hellishly cold outside.

another new year | westfield

Photos by Lordale Benosa

If you guys don't know already, I'm 100% Chinese. And no, I don't speak a lick of it. But the Lunar New Year holiday and the time that I spend with my family has and always will be close to my heart. So this year, I've partnered up with Westfield Garden State Plaza to bring you a little closer to Lunar New Year - whether or not you celebrate it. Because let's be honest with ourselves - red envelopes filled with money and sweet treats are a universal language.

I'm not one for festive outfits, and if I'm going to be spending Lunar New Year with my family, I'm opting for comfortable classics over everything. I paired a sporty tee with a pair of black flared jeans (and guys - flares are back with a vengeance! Trust me!) and a printed coat.

And if you're free on the last day of February - come swing by the LNY party at Westfield Garden State Plaza for some good ol' Lunar New Year fun. I'm talking food, performances, red envelopes - I mean Westfield is pulling out all the stops this year.

public decency

Photos by Alvin

I'm always in some form of lingerie (and my parents do not approve), but the trick to wearing lingerie in public is to dress it down with something totally casual like this denim dress. Plaid works too.

I love getting two-piece sets because it makes it easy for you to wear everything twice, three times, every day essentially. Stay tuned for the matching skirt to this Pixie Market top, y'all!

continued

Last weekend's three days of Memorial Day were all vastly different. I got a flash flood warning on my phone on Saturday, Sunday was so deliriously hot that I thought I would have a heat stroke and this day - Monday - was the most relaxing, perfectly temperate day by the water. Alvin and I got a paper bag full of snacks and refreshments and a blanket to lay out on the grass and literally did not move for a few hours or so. I donned my favorite Mirlo pieces (debuted my complete collection on Instagram, but decided that I need more pieces!) and Birks (what else?).

sprung

Photos by Alvin

Spring has officially sprung - evident in the increasing amount of photos of flowers and green foliage on your Instagram feed (guilty as charged) - but I'm not mad at it. Because that means actually being able to wear this FCUK leather number with whatever mini dress I have on hand and beat up Converses. The perfect outfit for another rainy day at the Met.

uniform

A uniform that I don't mind adhering to. Leather-like, broken-in skinnies, a cropped white button down and the ultimate backpack for everything.

florals in full

Lulu's floral dress  |  H&M cashmere sweater  |  vintage Coach bag

I wish you guys could see the full floral glory of this Lulu's floral dress. Chiffon, floral and backless - it looks like I'm on the wrong side of America, y'all. But hey, throw my favorite grey cashmere sweater over it and you've got an outfit fit to bear the insane polar vortex that never seems like it's gonna end.

constant rotation

H&M peplum top  |  Forever21 sweater  |  Line & Dot jacket  |  Wildfox Couture jeans  |  Zara boots (black similar version!)

An out-of-the-ordinary, but amazing day visiting the H&M showroom and the Daily Candy Bazaar (stopped by the Jung Lee home decor booth, seen above!) with half of the blogger sister duo, Rachel, meant coming across some really incredible Soho locations, optimal for obligatory outfit photos (complete with cobblestones roads). This one's kind of been a uniform for the weekend, rotating an easy overcoat and skinnies with not-so-accidental paint splatters with some version of a peplum with a cropped sweater.

Also, it snowed today in New York - which means a farewell to all kinds of fall layering and hello thick sweaters and unimaginable puffy jackets to take up more room on the commute to work!

50 degree weather celebration

Once the temperature hits above 50 degrees, especially after a few days of seemingly negative degree weather, I had to jump at the chance to wear a skirt and a crop top to celebrate. A couple degrees warmer and I would've gone to the beach. Really.

peach perfect

The only photographer for me, Landon
Pavonine tank  |  Lafayette148 blazer  |  H&M peach coat  |  gifted Sugarlips trousers  |  gifted cross necklace  |  Forever21 ombre earrings  |  Rayban aviators  |  Zara heels

Nothing will look masculine with a pair of awesome black heels, trousers aren't meant just for the boys. That all-too familiar side-striped detail is a recent favorite of mine, and will definitely be sticking around this season. The crop top - supposedly meant for the spring - hits right above the snakeskin band and the sheer sleeves on the blazer peek out of the peach jacket that I scored at one of H&M's recent sales. This $7.50 (hold your gasps) peach blazer reminded me of Landon's peach T from the summer, just goes to show that there's no such thing as season-appropriate colors.

just the details

Photos by Landon
Flirt Catalog tie dye jeans  |  American Apparel poplin shirt  |  UNIQLO chiffon top  |  H&M trench (similar)  |  Forever21 tote

The details are what made this outfit incredible, the tie-dye detailing on this Flirt Catalog denim is actually magical. It was a little chilly, so I layered a button down under a chiffon tunic, just because the button down had the cutest collar. Fall and winter aren't all about black, grey, nude and oxblood (obviously this season's color) - live a little, throw some tie-dye in the mix.
