hawaiian in camo

Clashing camouflage and Hawaiian prints are totally alright if they're in the same shade of dark.

Hello Monday and hey, happy St. Patrick's Day!

uniform

A uniform that I don't mind adhering to. Leather-like, broken-in skinnies, a cropped white button down and the ultimate backpack for everything.

Sported a sequin skirt with a graphic T and my favorite coat (duh) way back when bare legs were appropriate. So when's spring coming, New York?

camouflage flurries

Photos by Alvin (duh)

An escape to Williamsburg for last weekend ended in white flurries, and our second choice brunch plans ended up being an incredibly sweet little French spot called Pate et TraditionsI also picked up this pair of Warby Parker Reilly sunglasses in the best updated wayfarer silhouette in the coolest tortoise print (marzipan tortoise to be exact) just in time for the weekend.

And I've been looking for this Club Monaco number for pretty much forever, twinning with my Canadian boos Bianca and Dani I finally found it inconspicuously hunted it down - in the corner of the new Club Monaco Soho - just waiting to be worn as much as possible for the duration of this neverending winter.

When you snip off 7 inches of your hair, it takes some time getting used to. By now, it's grown a little and I'm starting to like it. This Living Royal sweater fits perfectly into my summer white wardrobe and is airy enough for the New York summer.

50 degree weather celebration

Once the temperature hits above 50 degrees, especially after a few days of seemingly negative degree weather, I had to jump at the chance to wear a skirt and a crop top to celebrate. A couple degrees warmer and I would've gone to the beach. Really.

The Lana Jacket, the Lanston T and my favorite vest make it so easy for a girl to layer for the fall. With everything else so simple, I had to add a pair of printed pants and the color of the season, oxblood, in the form of one of my favorite bags to date.

Despite my persistent cold, this weekend I had a great lunch with Steph, Matt and Amy at Nook in Hell's Kitchen. Sure, it was freezing. Never mind that it was a literal hole in the wall, but their french toast (with strawberry sauce) was out of this world and it was great to catch up with new and old friends while looking like a coat rack that everyone just piled their clothes on.

Four layers and counting, New York City weather will do that to you. It'll make you work up a sweat commuting to work in your seemingly necessary layers while making you completely rethink your outfit choice once you're in a heated office building. I even layered on the necklaces, one of my old favorites and one of the new courtesy of Hello Berry - they make dainty jewelry for pretty much everyday wear. happiness ensues

If you've seen me walking around these past few weeks, chances are, I'm wearing these sneaker wedges. I've been looking for sneakers for a while, ever since I fell in love with the Isabel Marant Beketts on practically everyone and did a post on sneakers here. The cartoonish charm of the Isabel Marants are what really drew me in, and although there were tons of suede shoes to choose from - Ash and ASOS - none had quite the character as the Marants. I wasn't about to spend $700 on a pair of shoes, although was seriously contemplating it, so when I saw these Hilights, I didn't hesitate to surrender my credit card to the cashier and purchase the most obnoxious, awesome pair of shoes currently in my possession.

80 degree weather in New York means bundle up, layer up. These lace crochet shorts are now my new favorite pair, they're the most comfortable and add the perfect amount of texture. Style Queen gifted me the perfect statement collar necklace, I just couldn't wait to wear it. I spent hours perusing through their site and their bracelets - particularly this, this and this - might actually get me back into arm parties. Here's hoping!

50 shades

Gap ombré men's oversized T (similar)  |  Club Monaco skirt  |  Steve Madden sandals  |  Marc by Marc Jacobs satchel  |  Ray Ban aviators

You know that a trend has taken over when it trickles over to menswear. I mean, I found this ombré  shirt at the Gap in the men's section. It was $11 and three sizes too big, but I pulled it over my head and I couldn't bear to take it off. Roll up the sleeves, cuff them, safety-pin them if you must, but don't let the size fool you. Sometimes oversized shirts are just the thing for a hot summer day.
And how appropriate is the title? It had to happen sometime, half my wardrobe is grey. Today, I just happen to be wearing 50 (well...like 2) shades of it.

night to day

The slight green trim on this chambray shirt just puts it right in the pajama ballpark - and yes, I like wearing pajamas, for an unorthodox night to day look. Also, I've been carrying this Zara shopper tote around everywhere, so much in fact, that I'm afraid it's gonna get dirty, real fast. How do I clean it?! #firstworldproblems
