playtime playsuit

Photos by Landon

This weekend's gonna be a busy one, pre-wedding jitters and some major preparation. You can be sure I'll be getting ready in full-on hair and makeup at 6am on Sunday in this Rachel Pally playsuit and my favorite Bollare tote (which I've been carrying absolutely everywhere). What I love about it is that I can easily slip in and out of it, unlike other jumpsuits and rompers, and you best believe that there's no one that does it better than Rachel Pally when it comes to unbelievable comfort. Eyeing this gorgeous cutout dress for my next purchase.

Happy weekend y'all!

Floral's always been a big print in my closet (it's definitely Landon's thing though), but I think I've finally found it. I've found my floral niche in life: sunflowers and daisies all around. Last weekend, I had a yard sale, which I definitely didn't advertise too much this time around, and when that failed due to the sweltering heat, we headed to Brooklyn to do some good ol' thrifting. I picked up this beauty and it's just the perfect swing, dropwaisted silhouette for the summer, perfectly airy and it drapes just right.

There's nothing like a good thrift find that reminds you of why you loved thrifting in the first place. This shirt's gonna be in constant rotation with its subtle stripes. Also, I've added another pair of sunglasses to my collection of 2 and counting. I thought I'd be doomed to a life of aviators and wayfarers (which really doesn't sound bad) - but with the introduction of these slightly boxier Warby Parkers into my life, I think I might start venturing out. Maybe these Jaspers will be my next pick.

school girl vibes

Channeling a school girl vibe in this chambray button up dress and an oxblood satchel that I thought would be only appropriate for the fall, but transitions quite nicely into my spring wardrobe.

If you can't tell already, I've been obsessing over full skirts - they're perfect for the spring because they're not too short or too long. The all white look could be intimidating, but throw on some denim and it's instantly casual. Also, my hair's getting way too long for my own good, thoughts on a drastic change? I'm thinkin' leaving the straight hair business and going with waves.

lost in translation: uno

gifted Koshka printed dress  |  gifted Oasap claw earrings  |  gifted Oasap spiked bracelet  |  Sam Edelman Trinas

When I saw this dress on Koshka, I knew that it would be an instant hit. I'd attribute its gorgeous printed texture to mirror that of a Mexican blanket turned figure-skater dress. It just hugs me in all the right places without being too constricting. The back dips low just right and the length is short enough to throw on my trusty Trinas and be on my way. I've already worn this dress a few times over the weekend since I've received it and I've gotten a few musings about what else I'd wear with such a statement dress.

So I'm starting a series (appropriately titled 'uno, dos, tres') in which I'll style one piece, this Ladakh Lost in Translation Dress, three different ways.  I'm hoping to give you, my lovely readers, a few ideas on conquering that one unique, statement piece with a fresh eye because let's face it, repeating outfits is a necessary evil that we can work around.

the bare necessities

The Soriya bra has a sort of S&M feel (thanks Landon for pointing it out) that I'm kind of in love with. The straps make any low cut/see-through/open back shirt instantly wearable. It came just in time for summer too, because just about half my wardrobe just became appropriate to wear.

Also, I've been hearing a lot about BANGSTYLE hair products. Apparently their sea salt spray is out of this world. For a girl whose never given a second thought at hair products, I'm thinkin' that I need to try me some BANGSTYLE. Do you guys have any hair product suggestions?

the white-out of the summer

I've done it. Eureka! I've found the perfect boat hat. Because of the general strange size and shape of my head, there aren't many hats in this world that can fit it. But this one, this $10 hat from H&M, fits me like a glove, sort of. I opted for an all white outfit because I guess it's something that I've never tried. They don't call it summer whites for nothing!

Sam Edelman Yelena (buy here)  |  dark wash jeans c/o Big Star Jeans USA  |  American Apparel crop top (better here)  |  thrifted nude blazer (perfect one here)  |  H&M neon rhinestone necklace (amazing one here)

A simple outfit with a nude blazer, a white button down and a pair of easy Big Star jeans - I wanted my bling (yes, I just said that) neon rhinestone necklace and my new Sam Edelamn babies to shine. If you guys follow me on Instagram (@kristengracelam), you would've seen these pretty little gems first! They were my actual birthday present for myself, because apparently, turning 21 made me kind of ignorant to how much money I have in my bank account. These Sam Edelman Yelenas are the perfect marriage between comfort and beauty with its chunky heel and metal detail. I just couldn't resist adding this pair to my collection.

More to come soon!
