daisy christmas

Another Christmas, another year passed and I don't know about you, but I switch perfumes way too much. One minute I'm into this, the next, I'm into that. But I think I've found one of my favorites, especially for the holidays. Scent is a powerful emotional and mental trigger. The worst is when someone walks by you and you're hit with a wave of smell - which could totally be a good or a bad thing.

So this holiday, I'll be complimented with Daisy by Marc Jacobs (available here),  this sweet, light, whimsical scent with floral undertones - sipping champagne cider and giving thanks to another good year, but very much looking forward to 2014 as one to remember.

a sweet weekend

This weekend, if you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed a little black and yellow honey bee / butterfly in my photos and the ridiculously adorable use of the hashtag #mj honeyspots whenever it appeared. What was it? Well the mystery stops here.

In celebration of Marc Jacob's Honey perfume, I used #mj honeyspots to take you around on a few of my favorite spots for my typical (alright, not so typical...) weekend! It always starts off at home, with a sweet, innocent little pup face, then it was off to a NYFW event to meet a few out-of-towners (even though I was just recovering from #fashionweak) and taking a little breather in my favorite neighborhood. Then it was off to an early start on Sunday on the road to Syracuse for Juice Jam to see Kendrick Lamar with a few faves and #mj honeyspots was there every step of the way.

Share your favorite spots, whether it's in the city or around the neighborhood with #mj honeyspots, find out more information on their site

Bee a part of the fun! Pun totally intended.

taking on triple stripes

Photos by Landon
Marc Jacobs Tshirt (another cool MJ print here)  |  thrifted dress (but really eyeing this T by A. Wang dress)  |  JewelMint + Forever21 necklaces  (awesome one here!)

Horizontal stripes aren't always the most flattering print, but done right - it could be phenomenal. I thrifted both the Tshirt, which is a mens shirt in a size large (just goes to show, don't be scared of a little extra room!) and the double layered slip. I know you're noticing a pattern over here on my blog with the consistent stripes because once I get into something, I just can't seem to stop!

Also, the J.Crew giveaway is still going on y'all! Enter for a chance to win a $200 gift card and head over to J.Crew's Style Sessions in their Soho location at 99 Prince Street from 6pm to 8pm!

tropic thunder

random black tank  |  Zara tropical pants (similar)  |  Marc by Marc Jacobs satchel  |  Ann Taylor sandals (similar)  | vintage gold choker

Talk about statement pants - these are some statement pants. I approached it gingerly, because you can't exactly clash this print with another. I chose a simple cotton tank that I dug up from the bottom of my drawers to help the pants stand out on its own (like it needed any help). And who would've thought navy MJ bag and black would go so well together? Whoever said "black and blue, shame on you" was sorely wrong.

New York, it seems like we're heading back to the heat, a whopping 92 degrees today, which means shorts, dresses, skirts. No pants.
