wang x hm

Photos by Alvin

This is what we've all been waiting for, right? Tomorrow's the big day and at 8am, the doors will open and you'll all be able to shop the coveted Alexander Wang and H&M collection! Honestly, H&M always kills it with their basics and Alexander Wang is the king of 'em - so it makes sense. I wore this shirt as a dress, got it in a medium and layered a lace romper underneath so I'm not completely naked in 50 degree weather.

Anyone waking up bright and early for this collection?

the perfect pair

Photos by Alvin

I've found it. I've found the perfect pair of jeans. The ultimate slouch. The zips on the side. The ultimate marriage of my favorite boyfriend jeans and skinny jeans (which I haven't been in since...forever)

My goal to smile more in these blog posts has really failed, hasn't it?

varsity blues

Forever 21 tank | Proenza Schouler mini
Alexander Wang sunglasses and Gabriela Artigas thin cage cuff via lustcovetdesire

Having some major old school flashback in my WOODWOOD varsity jacket from lustcovetdesire and a pair of thrifted shorts that was a serious find during a lunch trip to Salvation Army (uh, yes. I thrift). Ok and about this Venessa Arizaga shark tooth necklace from lustcovetdesire - did I really need another one? Yes. The answer is yes I did.

Best believe I'll be packing most of this outfit to Cali tomorrow. See y'all there?

a day at the high line

It's always an incredible thing to be able to say that you've known someone for almost a decade. With Zach, we went to middle school, high school and prom together. Yeah - this dude took yours truly to senior prom. He's always been a gentleman and over the years, after graduation and a ton of fond memories, I'm so happy that he's found something that he truly loves and has an obviously innate talent in. Enjoy his photos from the chillest day at the High Line and Chelsea Market eating tacos and chasing them down with Mexican coke. It was easily one of my favorite shoots, especially because it was with such a good friend. And the results? Easily one of the best I've seen.

offsetting sequins

Parker New York sequin top (in love with this one)  |  Zara cat bowler hat  |  Forever21 cutout booties

Offsetting a full sequin top with boyfriend jeans and black cutout booties. Oh, and forgot about the cat hat - kind of insanely good right? This baby is the second to join my hat collection (which includes a whole two hats altogether) and I'm in love with it. Even more so because Claire was vibing across the country in her cat hat too.

cut it out, put it on

Breaking news: less than 24 hours ago, I unpacked these undeniably Wang-esque Forever21 sleek cutout booties from their box. Less than an hour ago, I posted them on my Instagram. And now, they're on my blog. I'd say that's about the fastest turnaround rate ever.

slipping into fall

Lavai Maria slip skirt  |  McGinn pullover  |  Alexander Wang bag  |  Nine West sandals

Currently writing you from my bed. No, not from NYFW or anything exciting like that, but my bed, with a 101 degree fever none the less. But yep, still got a blog post for y'all, and one of my favorites at that!
You need an immense amount of patience when you're thrifting, but when someone hand-selects vintage pieces for you, it's just that much better. Lavai Maria is a vintage store in Williamsburg and after trying and loving everything there, I finally decided on this sheer slip skirt. It's such a great layering piece that transitions so nicely into fall. Stay tuned for another Lavai Maria crop top to make its appearance on here. God I've forgotten how much I love vintage.

Speaking of vintage, remember those Ivory + Mason sunglasses that I've been wearing ritually? Now you can get 50% off your first pair on IVORY+MASON with the code KRISTEN50! What're you waiting for?

Rocking a vibrant giraffe print and a statement necklace with a few of my wardrobe staples - white T, strappy black sandals and my trusty Wang. #HMSummer y'all.

clean lines

gifted Lulu's overalls  |  Urban Outfitters grey T  |  Zara heels  |  gifted Gypsy Warrior necklace  |  Alexander Wang Rocco

I never thought that a pair of vertical striped overalls would be a staple in my closet, but they kinda are. I wore these at least three times this week and totally not ashamed of it. But then again, you know me - anything goes with a grey T.

I haven't been keeping up with the blog lately as much as I could be, but I've been brainstorming a schedule for y'all now that summer's coming up and there's more free time on the weekends - but hey, exciting posts coming up. Costa Rica's next week and there's gotta be some incredible sights there right?

Well, I could never say no to a gorgeous Quiksilver oversized coat and Phillip Lim bag either - that's a huge hint right there to my parents, my sister and all you cool kids that just wanna make me smile this Christmas. Hello, random mustache photo.

ALOHA HAWAII

Photos by the handsome Landon from FashionGoggled

Thrifted Hawaiian shirt (actually H&M though - similar here)   |  c/o David Kahn skinnys  |  Zara metal capped flats (this one is super affordable)  |  H&M cage ring (similar here)  |  obligatory arm party

The subtle acid wash prints of these David Kahn jeans clashes a bit with the crazy Hawaiian shirt, doesn't it? I kind of like that pattern chaos going on though - threw on some gold and silver jewelry and voilĂ ; my own take on a Hawaiian tourist look. This shirt I love, it's so Alexander Wang on a budget.

David Kahn is starting to become one of my favorite brands, it baffles me how perfectly their jeans fit my legs - they definitely go way outside of the box in terms of prints and colors. Kudos!

I have a collaboration with a vintage retail site soon and a couple of cool reviews for you guys so stay put. Tomorrow's Wednesday, aka hump day - we can make it through the week, guys.

Toodles!

Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2012

Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

Swooning over Alexander Wang once again, that sheer black top is to die for! His collections are always so clean-cut and monochromatic, but yet so utterly classic. Would you wear these looks?
