asos under 100

Untitled #20

If you're a New Yorker, you know all about the hardships of commuting. High heels and stilettos just aren't optimal for those dirty subway stations and cracked New York City sidewalks. But then again, can you really handle 12 plus hours stomping around in 4 inch heels? Probably not.

ASOS has the perfect solution - well, solution(s). I picked a few of my favorites from their sale section and they're all so, so reasonably priced (as ASOS always is). We've got the brights and prints for your eclectic side, but we've also got some basic black heels and sandals for every day wear.

I'll be dropping some major hints to loved ones these next few days. Early birthday and Christmas presents are welcome.

I'm not a photographer, though I take Landon's photos all the time. Because you know what? Just because you paid money for a fancy DSLR, it doesn't make you a professional photographer. Money doesn't buy you talent or skill. I met Angel through friends and had the pleasure of working with him on a quick shoot after work. Here are the results and boy, am I happy with them - the light, the movement (which he totally had to give me his expert direction on) - it's for sure one of my favorite shoots to date!

never a wrong time

gifted Lulu's leather crop top  |  ASOS plaid skirt (similar here, here and here

It pains me to tell you that this Lulu's crop top is sold out in both black and white - but not to fear, what's amazing about Lulu's is their ability to hit the nail on absolutely everything that they have on their site. You can't go wrong, really. If you're looking for an everyday crop top, they've got it. If you're looking for a little bit of cutout, they've got that too. I'm glad that the weather's finally cooling down a bit for me to sport a wool midi-skirt without suffocating and a crop top without looking a little nuts. Although, is there ever a wrong time to be wearing a crop top and a full skirt?

Edit: Spoke too soon, the ultimate leather crop top is back!

good deals: the asos sale

velcro black flat sandals

Just a few things that I'd be spending my paycheck on - and they're all such a good deal. Because floral rompers and scarf printed culottes should be in everyone's wardrobe.

ASOS knows how to do a good sale. AND they're giving us 20% off full price items? Man, they love us.

When you snip off 7 inches of your hair, it takes some time getting used to. By now, it's grown a little and I'm starting to like it. This Living Royal sweater fits perfectly into my summer white wardrobe and is airy enough for the New York summer.

midi skirts skinny love

I'm not sure why I insist on wearing and loving midi skirts. It's not like I'm exactly 5'9", but there's something about midi skirts that are just so appropriate for any weather. I picked up this one from ASOS a while back, and the wool makes it perfectly transitional into the spring. I have my eye on this major green striped statement skirt though. But for now, while New York is still deciding on whether or not it's going to be spring - I'll stick with my monochromatic tones.

Also, if you know me, you'll know that I always need a hairtie on my wrist, I've found my match in Twistband ties, I can literally match my outfit with any color that they have.

the oversized trench coat | first look

H&M tank  |  Urban Outfitters varsity jacket  |  ASOS skirt  |  gifted Lulu's BB Dakota Augustine Khaki jacket  |  Zara bag  |  gifted Lulu's Kelsi Dagger sandals

The weather's finally looking up, the sun's finally peaking out, is spring actually here, guys? I went with this skirt that's just ben sitting in my closet waiting for the perfect day. Its thick, wooly material makes it the perfect winter-spring transitional skirt. Paired tons of grey(ish) layers on top and voilà!

A piece that I think every girl (and guy?) should have in their closet is a trench coat of some sort. Oversized, fitted, short, long - take your pick. This Lulu's oversized coat from BB Dakota is lightweight and incredible with anything and everything. I'll be doing the 1 piece, 3 ways series again so stay tuned for some more looks with this one!

Psst - 15% off at Lulu's with the code KRISTENGLAM (case sensitive, guys!) will be good until Saturday March 16, 2013! Get steppin' over to Lulu's!

It was all smiles after spending a majority of the day at my first work holiday party. For it to be with such a great company like Bollare made me realize how lucky I am to be surrounded by wonderful coworkers, all of whom I can call my friends. I didn't opt for the typical red, sequinned holiday ensemble and wore a new midi skirt and all dark everything. I paired all the darks with Bollare gifted  Dannijo friendship bracelet and their iconic jeweled cuff to make it one of the absolute best holidays I've ever had.

the fine details

Sometimes the details on an outfit are just as interesting as the outfit itself. In this case, it's all about the quilted details on yet another grey sweatshirt I own, a pair of tribal printed shoes and a few statement bracelets that make up that old forgotten concept of an arm party.

Just in case you're feeling generous (but not too generous) during the holidays, here are a few gifts that say, "Hey, I care about you in a big way".

Well, I could never say no to a gorgeous Quiksilver oversized coat and Phillip Lim bag either - that's a huge hint right there to my parents, my sister and all you cool kids that just wanna make me smile this Christmas. Hello, random mustache photo.

a few of my favorite things

The first of many posts about my current obsessions, right now it's all about my miniprints from Social Print Studio and my sheer embellished chiffon maxi from ASOS that lives a double life as a gorgeous curtain. These miniprints are going to be such a stocking stuffer, you get 48 of these Instagram prints for a mere $12. It doesn't get any better than that. Especially when someone just hit over 1,000 photos on Instagram, I have a ton of photos to choose from. A huge thanks to Heidi over at SPS for introducing me. She has a blog too, and an Instagram that I can't stop obsessing over.

A huge fan of this two piece, detachable maxi dress and these flatforms that go with everything. Is it any wonder that they're both from ASOS? Summer, don't end. I have so many plans for this dress. So many plans. Always schemin'.

ASOS top  |  Zara distressed denim  |  Zara slingbacks (similar flat versions)

There's nothing difficult about this outfit. Distressed denim from Zara that I've worn here with a few extra character rips and a top from ASOS that I've had for as long as I can remember and those shoes - oh yes, those Alexander Wang inspired shoes - that you're most likely gonna see on every blogger, including two of my personal faves, Steph and Ann. Sometimes, on days where public transportation just doesn't work with you and it's the beginning of the week, you've just gotta take the easy way out. This is it, people.
