introduction

Photos by Alvin

And it's finally here! The first ever YouTube video. I'm sure I'll get used to hearing the sound of my own voice but more importantly, hopefully you guys get used to it too hehe. I mainly wanted to start this channel because I wanted you guys to see that hey - my life isn't as glamorous as you guys think. I'm a normal person with normal friends and normal awkward tendencies. And with video, there's no faking it. What you see is what you get. So enjoy and subscribe - stay tuned for my Istanbul vlog!

Side note: I just want to give a HUGE thanks to everyone that subscribed already. It's been amazing to see so many reactions, I welcome both good and bad. Thank y'all for allllll the continued love!

fem details

Photos by Emily Malan

I finally got the chance to shoot with Emily after our chance (and random) encounter in Brooklyn. Managed to get these shots in during a long day of work when the weather was actually agreeing with us. Layered this lace Line & Dot dress underneath a turtleneck dress to give it a little more feminine detail.

Just got back from Turkey and I can't wait to edit all of the video footage! But seriously guys, my first intro to YouTube video is going to be up by the end of this week and I'm beyond scared excited petrified but mostly scared. Stay tuned!

I've finally achieved that blogger goal they call golden hour and it feels so good. Am I a real blogger now, Mom? All jokes and fun aside - I didn't actually have to fight anyone and didn't get a heart attack at the Theory sample sale and came out with this striped number. The fact that it can be worn as a dress (well...almost) compensates for its overly-oversized silhouette.

And these sandals - can they be any more awesome? No. No they can't.

Sported a sequin skirt with a graphic T and my favorite coat (duh) way back when bare legs were appropriate. So when's spring coming, New York?

lulu's sweater weather | marled sequins

Photos by Paulina

It's another Lulu's look with this cropped marled grey sweater that's available online right now. You already know my insane obsession with grey, it's a lot more casual than black or white. I wish I could find more occasions to wear this sequin skirt, it's just too beautiful to be kept in the dark corners of my room.

Also, friendly reminder that the #LulusSweaterWeather giveaway is still going on until next Friday - and the rules? Psh, it's real easy. If you're already following me on Instagram - all you have to do is follow Lulu's on Instagram. Plus, an extra point for Gryffindor following Lulu's on Google+!

Oh, and did I forgot to mention again what you'll be winning? It'll be - not just any sweater - but your favorite sweater from Lulu's! And hey, it could totally be the sweater that I'm wearing now, but the beauty of it is...it's your choice!

constant rotation

H&M peplum top  |  Forever21 sweater  |  Line & Dot jacket  |  Wildfox Couture jeans  |  Zara boots (black similar version!)

An out-of-the-ordinary, but amazing day visiting the H&M showroom and the Daily Candy Bazaar (stopped by the Jung Lee home decor booth, seen above!) with half of the blogger sister duo, Rachel, meant coming across some really incredible Soho locations, optimal for obligatory outfit photos (complete with cobblestones roads). This one's kind of been a uniform for the weekend, rotating an easy overcoat and skinnies with not-so-accidental paint splatters with some version of a peplum with a cropped sweater.

Also, it snowed today in New York - which means a farewell to all kinds of fall layering and hello thick sweaters and unimaginable puffy jackets to take up more room on the commute to work!

plaid + pinstripes

Line & Dot jacket  |  The Garage Thrift vintage plaid shirt  |  H&M pinstripe pants (similar)  |  Zara hat (similar)

Well hello fall, I'm not quite sure if I missed you. I'd like you to stay at a nice 50 to 60 degree weather - either sunny or overcast. Nothing worse than that please.

Anyway, plaid and pinstripes, do they work? In my mind they do. The pinstripes are subtle enough to treat as a pair of jeans and I can see that this pair will do quite nicely during the colder months when I can no longer stand wearing skinny jeans or a ripped boyfriend pair. This plaid shirt fits like a damn dream, just right and snug on the shoulders, but loose enough so that I can breathe and eat like a boy.

A little bit on The Garage Thrift, besides the fact that babe who started it has been a friend since middle school, it's a finely curated site of vintage pieces for those of you who might be too lazy to sift through vintage and thrift stores at sick prices. And when I say sick, I mean that in a good way.

minju kim x h&m

Photos by Paulina
gifted Minju Kim x H&M jacket  |  Line & Dot jumpsuit (also available on Revolve)

This Minju Kim and H&M collaboration was inspired by Japanese manga cartoons, which was a brief obsession back in the days with yours truly. Minju Kim's designs for this collection play on different, anomalous shapes (and you know I love a good ambiguous silhouette!), incredible bright, pastel jewel-toned colors and a wonderfully cartoonish vibe that's just so unique.

I paired this cropped jacket from the collection with my favorite, trusty black jumpsuit and a pair of heels. It's definitely more of a night-time look but hey, in New York, is there really a difference?

"Creating this collection with H&M has been an amazing experience. My designs are about turning characters into outfits, and it's exciting to think that these characters will soon be worn by people around the world." - Minju Kim

Well there you go, guys. Head over to Opening Ceremony, online at H&M's UK site or select H&M stores in and around the city to shop the collection.

There we go, the layers are coming back. Unnecessarily early, but I don't mind it.

Happy Monday, y'all!

In light of October and the holiday that we all know and love, here's a mermaid inspired outfit that I was proud to sashay around in on the streets of New York from one of my favorite brands ever.

blush tones

From my Instagram

Blush toned goodness from these past few weeks that you might've missed on Instagram. The perfect sequin maxi (that I never knew I needed) from Line & Dot, cronuts - the real deal that I waited on line for at 6:15 in the morning - from none other than the Dominique Ansel Bakery, a gorgeous Naked Princess bralette from the Bollare preview and a couple of dark hot chocolates with Jaclyn that was the perfect mid-day half an hour pick-me-up.

You guys already know that I love a good daisy print in my life. This was an amazing vintage find and hugs me in all the right places. And hey, I don't own too many clutches in my life, but this Me Char one is going to be a definite staple for my nonexistent nightlife.

the suit, not the tie

You should see this dress without the blazer, it's absolutely gorgeous, but slightly scandalous for work. You'll be seeing the dress in its fully glory for Costa Rica in a few weeks!
