I wish you guys could see the full floral glory of this Lulu's floral dress. Chiffon, floral and backless - it looks like I'm on the wrong side of America, y'all. I have to be quite honest, fanny packs - in my mind - were reserved for grandmas, music festivals and DisneyWorld tourists. But when one of my friends told me that she started KittyMakWarriors, and asked me to choose a few of my favorites to style, this fanny pack stuck out with its updated silhouette and metal enclosure. And with my favorite monochromatic wardrobe pieces, it just fits in so, so well. Throw on a little bit of plaid detail and there ya go. Fanny packs for the win.

When I was young, people claimed that if I had short hair, I would look like a boy. That might explain my affinity for masculine silhouettes. So here we go with these Lulu's trousers. They're perfectly slouchy to show off just an inch or two of midriff and stop right above the ankle to show off a pair of my favorite loafers.

Recent acquisitions to incorporate easily into my wardrobe include a soft, cozy grey cashmere sweater from H&M (similar) - a grey piece that I surprisingly don't have in my closet - and a few dainty gold necklaces that I've literally had around my neck ever since I got them. I've just been piling them on! The shark tooth necklace, I'm just obsessed with. I keep looking around for more. And whether or not you believe in horoscopes and all that entails, this Rebecca Minkoff necklace is just too chic to leave out. And the Rue Gembon Daya necklace is a no-brainer, no matter what your style is.

I heard that there's gonna be another crazy snow chill over here in New York over the weekend, so here's an outfit post before I get buried under it. I'd forgotten how effortless it is to just throw on a white button down and an oversized sweater - the cashmere just takes it to the next level of texture. Black and white is just always the best default color combination (other than my favorite grey on grey on grey).

The trick to surviving New York is layers, beanies and long coats. Seriously, you'd be surprised at how much the length of a coat affects your body temperature. Are you guys sick of this coat yet? I'm sure as hell not. I wore a knit sweater underneath, appropriately named the Kristen sweater - it's got everything I love in life: plaid and marled grey texture all in this incredible boyfriend fit. 

Don't mind that ridiculous face I'm making in the first photo. I was trying to see my breath in the cold. Yep. That's me.

resolutions

The quickest post - with some resolutions for 2014. Never thought we'd make it here, eh? 

This year, it's all about downsizing and minimalism in every most aspects of my life. Keep to the essentials and I'll always ask myself, do I really need this in my life? (Even though chances are...the answer will be yes)

Another resolution? Commit and dedicate. I have to admit that I'm a naturally lazy person. But hey, this year - I'm gonna have more content for y'all. Outfit posts, lifestyle posts - travel (hopefully) and tons of food, if you can dig it. 

Here's to no more half-assing it and another great year. And here's to you guys, thanks for being awesome!

It's always an incredible thing to be able to say that you've known someone for almost a decade. With Zach, we went to middle school, high school and prom together. Yeah - this dude took yours truly to senior prom. He's always been a gentleman and over the years, after graduation and a ton of fond memories, I'm so happy that he's found something that he truly loves and has an obviously innate talent in. Enjoy his photos from the chillest day at the High Line and Chelsea Market eating tacos and chasing them down with Mexican coke. It was easily one of my favorite shoots, especially because it was with such a good friend. And the results? Easily one of the best I've seen.

daisy christmas

Another Christmas, another year passed and I don't know about you, but I switch perfumes way too much. One minute I'm into this, the next, I'm into that. But I think I've found one of my favorites, especially for the holidays. Scent is a powerful emotional and mental trigger. The worst is when someone walks by you and you're hit with a wave of smell - which could totally be a good or a bad thing. 

So this holiday, I'll be complimented with Daisy by Marc Jacobs (available here),  this sweet, light, whimsical scent with floral undertones - sipping champagne cider and giving thanks to another good year, but very much looking forward to 2014 as one to remember.

Missing California and its consistent, beautiful weather. Come on, nice weather just makes you happier, doesn't it? Opted for an easy outfit, fuss-free with overalls, a breezy crop top and comfortable slip-ons for hiking up mountains and doing tourist-y things.

san diego super chargers

If you haven't followed Instagram in the past week, you missed the California photo spam on my newsfeed (hey, I ain't mad about it). And now that I'm back in wintry New York, I'll be working on getting all of these photos out on the Internet getting back on the work grind. On the bright side? Happy almost Christmas!!

A few snaps of the first few days in San Diego: a trip to the zoo like a bunch of excited little kids to see lions, cheetahs and bears (oh my!), my first ever football game to watch my Giants valiantly lose against the Chargers and a quick outfit snap underneath a blooming tree that probably forgot that it's winter. But then again, the entire state of California can probably conveniently disregard seasons. 

Also, not much of a Chargers fan, but their theme song was our theme song for San Diego. Warning: tendency to get stuck in head.

I'm at the end of this incredible trip on the West Coast with some of my friends and hey, I haven't been neglecting guys, no way! Just wanted to share my most recent purchase at Wasteland at their first ever location on Haight - the most perfect open knit Helmut Lang sweater. Ever.

It's another Lulu's look with this cropped marled grey sweater that's available online right now. You already know my insane obsession with grey, it's a lot more casual than black or white. I wish I could find more occasions to wear this sequin skirt, it's just too beautiful to be kept in the dark corners of my room.
