soak it up

Soaking up some vitamin D on the Bowery rooftop (thanks Ted) on a beautiful Sunday afternoon after a long Saturday night in everything oversized (sorry, boys!) and my second (and certainly not last) pair of Birks.

revamped classics

Normally I try and stay away from horizontal stripes and sequins - stripes are never the most flattering and sequins are just a little too loud for everyday wear. But together? Man, it's magical. The sequins perfectly dress-up the horizontal stripes and the boxy cut of the shirt paired with a pair of boyfriend shorts makes this outfit one of my favorites in the mix.

white flare

I can't get over the fullness of this skirt. The texture - hopefully you can see it - consists of a pattern of raised dots that are both whimsical and classy. A white skirt is going to do wonders when the weather gets warmer, with a little crop top, with an oversized sweater. I gotta say though, I'm channeling a little bit of that Kate Spade essence introduced in my last post, right? My next goal, get this cool Kate Spade number and add to my growing skirt collection.

most valuable layers

Four layers and counting, New York City weather will do that to you. It'll make you work up a sweat commuting to work in your seemingly necessary layers while making you completely rethink your outfit choice once you're in a heated office building. I even layered on the necklaces, one of my old favorites and one of the new courtesy of Hello Berry - they make dainty jewelry for pretty much everyday wear. pumpkin

Gap sweater  |  H&M skirt (similar)  |  Zara crossbody (similar)  |  thrifted loafers (similar patent version)

The only thing better than wearing this outfit to an apple-picking farm was realizing that I had unintentionally dressed like a pumpkin, which I was surprisingly not bothered by. Today, I introduce you to the little Lam, the sister that doubles as an efficient photographer after Landon, whose talents lie in academics and athletics, whose personality so differs from my own - and all the while, is still one of my best friends.

50 shades

You know that a trend has taken over when it trickles over to menswear. I mean, I found this ombré  shirt at the Gap in the men's section. It was $11 and three sizes too big, but I pulled it over my head and I couldn't bear to take it off. Roll up the sleeves, cuff them, safety-pin them if you must, but don't let the size fool you. Sometimes oversized shirts are just the thing for a hot summer day.
And how appropriate is the title? It had to happen sometime, half my wardrobe is grey. Today, I just happen to be wearing 50 (well...like 2) shades of it.

CELEBRATORY BALLOON RED PANTS!

Photos by the incredible, edible Landon

Gap leather jacket (similar here) | Zara shirt | American Apparel red zip jeans | Senso shoes | Thrifted gold choker | c/o Glam Rock rose gold watch (buy here)

You're also looking at a new digital media assistant! I am officially a working girl, and I'm completely honored and humbled to be joining the Bollare team. They've been so nice and so welcoming, I couldn't ask for more!

So to celebrate my new job, I've got some extremely loud pants. I'm obsessed with them though! I paired it with this Zara shirt that's pretending to be a damn abstract painting, but it's oh so pretty.

And for those who follow me on Instagram (@kristenglam), you'd know that I've been wearing this rose gold watch from Glam Rock Watches almost every single day. You're probably sick of it. Can you blame me though?

BELGIAN FRIES, GOOD COMPANY AND A PHOTOGRAPHER FRIEND.

(Gap striped knit sweater, random white chiffon shirt, Gap red corduroys, H&M necklace, Forever 21 bracelets, sterling silver bangle from Mexico, faux leather zipper bag -story here!, Senso shoes)

My sister left yesterday to study abroad for the spring semester, and the truth is, this striped sweater is hers, so once she sees this, she'll be giving me a piece of her mind, but y'know what? The girl is 1000 miles away so what can she do? But if you see this, I do miss you!

I had lunch with two of my friends that I've known since middle and high school, and we had a great time catching up, eating paninis and belgian fries.

One of them took these amazing photos for me, he has a Tumblr and a Flickr and a Vimeo, everything that an aspiring photographer/film major needs to succeed in life! They're a far better job than anything I could do. And since I don't have work for a couple days, I can't rely on Landon to photograph me!
