dynamic trio

Action photography by Landon of FashionGoggled

thrifted denim shirt/jacket  |  H&M grey tank  |  Isabel Lu leather shorts (similar)  |  gifted Style Queen necklace  |  thrifted Kenneth Cole leather backpack  |  thrifted DIY spiked sneakers

My comfortable outfits seem to always consist of either leather, grey or denim. Anyway you put it, those three are my secret weapon. Woke up late? No problem, throw on any combination of these three and you're good to go. The leather backpack just makes the day immensely more practical. This whole outfit - though might be Alexander-Wang-esque (as so aptly noted by Landon) - is leaning a little bit more towards that nostalgic high school laziness where shorts and a tank aren't frowned upon. My dynamic trio (duo, trio, same difference) is always reliable and almost always a sartorial success. Almost.

ASYMMETRY AND NEON

(ASOS sheer gray top, DIY necklace GAP ombre sweater, vintage leopard belt, DIY asymmetric maxi, Zara maroon booties, American Apparel leather medium pouch)

Attempted at this DIY maxi skirt and even though the edges are fraying a little, I think it gives it character, no? Paired it with a simple top and a monochromatic sweater. I barely wore any accessories today, which means no arm candy!

I thought the neon clutch could be my statement piece for the day. I've been eyeing it at American Apparel for a while, it's the only one with a gold zipper, instead of the plastic zippers that they normally have. Love it!

See ya'll soon!

TWIST ON A CLASSIC

(Various sources: Tumblr, Park and Cube, Park Street Blog)

Today's inspiration is coming from that classic white button down staple that must be in everyone's closet. Whether it's made of chiffon or cotton, it's a must-have for everyone (even all you guys out there!)

Here are some unique ways you can revamp this classic;
1. collar tips: You can DIY over here at HonestlyWTF
2. ombre: Ombre is really trendy right about now!
3. rounded collars: I have a couple from AmericanApparel!
4. simple metal jewelry: H&M has some great jewelry, so does Forever 21!

Personally, those collar tips really do it for me, I made a pair of my own a while back, but misplaced them...silly me.

Let me know how you revamp your classic white shirt!
